MAHLE Ventiltrieb GmbH is part of the international MAHLE Group and specializes in components and systems for the valve train of modern internal combustion engines. Its product portfolio includes valve systems, camshafts, and engine components for the automotive industry. The company supplies international OEMs and is recognized for its innovative solutions in engine technology and mobility.

As part of our project, green-state encoder wheels were examined in detail at ANAXAM to gain a better understanding of the density and powder distribution within the components and to support targeted process optimization. Encoder wheels are precision-engineered components used in technical systems—such as engines or sensor applications—to detect rotational movement or position.

MAHLE - Pore Analysis (EN)

ANAXAM's applied materials analytics using high-resolution Synchrotron CT enables precise differentiation between material regions and voids within the investigated components. This allows pore structures, density distributions, and potential inhomogeneities to be clearly identified and characterized. Even cracks would be detected if present.

The investigation was carried out completely non-destructively and independently of the component geometry. Virtual cross-sections could be generated and evaluated flexibly, enabling comprehensive and highly precise assessment of critical areas throughout the entire component.

ANAXAM’s non-destructive 3D analysis enabled us to examine the internal structures of our components with exceptional quality. This provided valuable insights that support the sustainable optimization of our production processes. Thank you for this professional support.”
