After more than 1.5 years of upgrading the SLS (Swiss Light Source), we have now been able to carry out customer measurements on the ADDAMS beamline at PSI for the first time again.

Our robotic infrastructure optimizes sample exchange at the beamline. It has significantly increased the measurement efficiency of prefilled syringes (PFS), enabling us to handle even large-scale customer projects.

On 23 September 2025 in Neuhausen, the Praxiszirkel Werkstoffanalytik in aerospace will focus on materials at the limit, their requirements, test methods and practical examples.

Engines, structural components or landing gear components - materials in the aerospace industry have to withstand extreme temperatures, mechanical loads and changing environmental conditions over the long term. The decisive factor here is not only the selection of the right materials, but also their targeted testing under realistic conditions.

The event uses specific applications to show how test intervals can be sensibly defined, suitable test methods selected and test parameters determined. Our speakers will provide insights into how modern material analytics contributes to quality assurance and the further development of innovative aerospace systems.

We recently welcomed Daniel Lima and Daniel Brunner from Rheonics. After a brief round of introductions, we provided a tour of our premises as well as the large-scale research facilities at PSI. The product examples they brought with them helped us to better understand the challenges and requirements of Rheonics. These are now being measured in an initial feasibility study using Synchrotron CT. We look forward to further collaboration.

Stefan Randl and Luca Dalla Torre from Siegfried AG visited us this week. After a mutual round of introductions, we had an intensive exchange on possible project ideas. Afterwards, our guests were given a tour through the large-scale research facilities at PSI. We look forward to working together in the future.
