Flavia Bonelli, Toni Israel, Julian Czajor and Felix Bölter from Stäubli visited us this week. After a short round of introductions, we had an intensive dialogue. The product examples they brought with them helped us to better understand the challenges faced by Stäubli. Afterwards, our guests were given a tour of our premises and gained an insight into the development process of our infrastructures. We are looking forward to our future collaboration.

Merck & Co., Inc. is an American multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Rahway, New Jersey, and is named for Merck Group, founded in Germany in 1668, of whom it was once the American arm. The company does business as Merck Sharp & Dohme or MSD outside the United States and Canada. It is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, generally ranking in the global top five by revenue.

Functional highlights

In total, we carried out 5 experiments, on 5 different beamlines, over 4 days, at 2 different large-scale research facilities (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) / Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL)). This enormous achievement of our team was of course not possible without the support of the scientists at the beamlines. ACTEGA Artística is a leading supplier of water-based sealants for the end-making industry. Usual tests to examine the seam are destructive (as cross-cut section or seam disassemble) and do not provide any indication about sealant placement inside the seam.

In January, we moved from DeliveryLab to the new Park Innovaare. Here you can now find us in building A1 on the 6th floor. Our address and telephone numbers have changed as a result of the move. In addition to more office space, we now also have our workshop under one roof.

ANAXAMs analytics with Neutrons and Synchrotron X-rays help to understand the clogging phenomena in pre-filled syringes. The study aimed to investigate the movement of liquid in the needle region of staked-in-needle pre-filled syringes using neutron radiography and synchrotron X-ray tomography. The investigation has been done in collaboration with our customer Merck & Co., Inc.

Last week, Mr Reinlado Digigow, Mr Beat Flühmann, Mr Michael Burgert, Mr Leonard Krupnik and Mr Hans-Martin Müller from CSL Vifor visited us. After a presentation of ANAXAM and an initial technical exchange on the possibilities of collaboration, we went on a tour of the large-scale research facilities at PSI. This was followed by a lively exchange on joint project opportunities in the field of various analytical technologies. We look forward to working together in the future.
