Multi-Scale Analysis for Calibration of the Near-Infrared System using Synchrotron, Neutron and Myron radiation
SpectraFlow Analytics is a company specializing in real-time online materials analysis solutions for the cement and minerals industries. They have developed innovative analysers that utilize Near-Infrared (NIR) technology with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer to provide accurate, non-destructive, and safe material composition measurements. Due to the mineralogically and chemically different conditions of the raw materials, the accuracy of NIR analyser depends on high-quality, site-specific calibration models using reference data. It is the desire of SpectraFlow Analytics to ascertain the applicability of the different techniques that is available for the calibration of the NIR analyser.
Within a project partnership ANAXAM works together with SpectraFlow Analytics for the applicability of the different methods which are available at large scale facilities for the calibration of the NIR systems: high- throughput Synchrotron X-Ray Diffraction (S-XRD) and high-throughput Synchrotron X-Ray Fluoresce Spectroscopy (S-XRF), Muon-Induced X-Ray Emission (MIXE) Spectroscopy and Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA).
ANAXAM's applied material analytics helps to create a platform that provides the best possible information, both mineralogical and chemical, and supports SFA to become independent of the often insufficient reliability of customer analytics. For this customer project, ANAXAM used the MS and MIXE beamlines at the Paul Scherrer Institute, and the BM23 beamline at ESRF.
With this approach ANAXAM supports SFA with key technology to reach the next level of in NIR Online-Analytics. This underlines the added value that ANAXAM has to offer an SME like us. ANAXAM is not only a service provider for applied analytics, it stands first and foremost for innovation in analytics.“
