Video: Tailor-made infrastructure for real-time investigation of the freezing behavior of water droplets using Synchrotron-CT

07.02.2024
As part of a customer project to investigate the freezing behaviour of water droplets using Synchrotron-CT, a tailor-made cryochamber with drop generator was developed.

The tailor-made infrastructure can be used to investigate the freezing behaviour of seawater on different coatings, at different angles and droplet sizes, as well as temperatures.

The infrastructure enables freely programmable drop volumes from 0.5 µl (approx. Ø 1 mm) to 33.5 µl (approx. Ø 4 mm). The cryochamber can be freely controlled in the temperature range from -25°C to 0°C.
