Review: Materials Safety Practice Circle

05.04.2023
A short review of the practical circle on material safety at Suisse Technology Partners in Neuhausen am Rheinfall.

We would like to thank you for your participation at the practical circle on materials analytics. With over 40 participants, the event was very well appreciated. In addition to exciting presentations, the event was complemented by a tour of the extensive laboratories and test benches of Suisse Technology Partners.

At the third edition of our practical materials analysis circle, everything revolved around materials safety from conception to series production. After the welcome by the host Günter Bergmann (Suisse Technology Partners), Dr Marcus Morstein (Hightech Zentrum Aargau) led into the main program.

In the main program, Michael Siegfried (BRUGG Lifting) gave an impressive presentation of the challenges involved in the development of modern lift cables. Dr Arnulf Hörtnagl (Swiss Safety Center) then gave an insight into the risks involved in transporting and storing hydrogen. Dr. Lorenz Herrmann (Empa) and Matthias Wagner (ANAXAM) gave an insight into the world of advanced analytical methods. Finally, Dr. Christoph Meilgen (Suisse Technology Partners) explained a method that makes it possible to obtain an efficient estimation of the fatigue properties of building lines even with less testing.

During the apéro, open questions were clarified and the network was deepened.
