Infrastructure test setup at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF)

Successful test setup of the tailor-made infrastructure for measuring arctic ice samples in a joint project with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), at the ESRF in Grenoble (project "MICROSPRAY", Research Council of Norway, 2020-2025, project leader Sönke Maus).

Last week, our team went to the ESRF in Grenoble to prepare for a 3-day measurement campaign at the ID19 imaging beamline in April. Together with NTNU, arctic ice samples and the freezing behavior of seawater on different coated surfaces will be investigated.

Together with the scientists of the ESRF, a test setup was carried out using the infrastructure developed by ANAXAM and the situation at the beamline was checked. This preparation was necessary in order to be able to guarantee a smooth process during the subsequent measurement campaign.
